As many of you are aware, the National Bank Open in Toronto is currently scheduled for August 7 to 15.

As of this date, this is what the OTA has learned from Tennis Canada about the event. Of course, in times such as these, conditions are subject to change.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • There is an OTA club member discount for tickets: all tickets can be ordered on-line with a promo code, which is NBO21GROUP. Tennis Canada will be adopting a mobile ticketing system at this year’s event and there will be no printed tickets. The discount is 20% off for platinum and gold level tickets and 15% off for silver and bronze level tickets for all sessions from Monday through Saturday. Tennis Canada is extremely short of staff, so they are encouraging on-line ticket purchases over phone-in purchases. For more information or to purchase tickets on-line, visit: https://am.ticketmaster.com/nbopentoronto/promotional-page?filterType=MTk=. Tickets went on sale July 26. Please share this information with your club members ASAP.
  • Tickets are for the main stadium only
  • No access to grandstand, side courts, practice courts, retail area and COE food pavilion
  • Masks must remain on while in main stadium except for eating and drinking
  • Ticketholders must remain in their seat except to leave the stadium or visit restrooms
  • No standing behind lower bowl seats
  • Food and drink can only be consumed in stadium seating – it can be ordered by app and will be delivered – no concession stands will be open
  • Parking will be available – at this time there are no plans for a shuttle bus service
  • OTA President’s Day. Unfortunately, there will be no President’s Day this year due to Covid-19 restrictions – we are hopeful that we will be able to host it again in 2022
  • OTA offices will be closed to visitors except by appointment

We all understand that this year’s National Bank Open will not be normal and we are hopeful that it will be “business as usual” in 2022. It has been a challenging year and a half for Tennis Canada and we are pleased that they are able to accommodate spectators at this year’s event. We hope you will support them, and tennis in Canada, by visiting the tournament and passing on this information, particularly the OTA discount information, to your club members.
