Dunlace Tennis Ladder – Singles
OVERVIEW
The 2025 ladder will be the same structure as prior years. It will be a box format ladder with 6 players per box. The initial position of players will be based on last years’ ladder results, the player’s WTN number (if they have one), the player’s self-rating and finally the administrator discretion of none of the above is available.
The ladder box composition will be available in the WTN ladder software which automatically manages each session ranking and enables players to enter their match scores. Each ladder participant will be required to register for a free WTN number (instructions to be provided below). Court Reserve will continue to be used to book court times for matches.
The ladder administrator for 2025 is Gary Saarenvirta. He can be contacted at ladder@dunlacetennis.com.
LADDER REGISTRATION
The fees for ladder will be $11 for the entire season. Please follow the link to register. You must be a Club member to play ladder.
INSTRUCTIONS TO GET A WTN NUMBER
If you are a tournament tennis player or are a member of a club that uses the OTA or Tennis Canada ladder or tournament software then you already have a WTN number and login/password. You can continue to use these to login to the dunlace ladder to see who your session box competitors are, to enter match scores and to see the current session rankings.
See the following document for instructions on how to get a WTN number.
If you have any issues registering for a WTN number please reach out to ladder@dunlacetennis.com and the administrator will coordinate assistance.
GAME FORMAT
- Both players should bring a NEW, UNOPENED can of balls, but the winner of the match takes the unopened can
- A match is a pro-set, first-to-eight games, with a tie-break at 7-7
- By default, ad’s are NOT PLAYED (no-ad scoring) unless the players mutually agree to use ad scoring prior to initiating the match
- A player who does not arrive by 10 minutes after the scheduled time defaults his/her match
- Please respond to calls and emails trying to schedule matches and within 48 hours.
- Players who do not respond to multiple calls or emails can be defaulted and removed from the ladder
- After each round, the top two in the box moves up to the higher box (except Box 1 players). The bottom two players in the box moves to the lower box (except Box 5 players)
Please remember to practice good sportsmanship and have a great time!
