We have informed our members that City has started issuing a new permits with very strict rules that each and every Community Club (like Dunlace) is obliged to follow. With the rules in place, there is a lot of liability that was put on the Club and the Executive team who are all volunteers. The insurance that Club has is not covering any event or accident related to COVID-19.
At this point, Club, Executive team and Tennis Pros are not ready to open up the courts for tennis play and take full responsibility and liability that City pushed on us. The North York Tennis Association (NYTA) is helping us with renegotiation of the rules. If you would like to help in speeding up the process, please feel free to contact our Counselor and express concerns on the new rules.
We appreciate your support and understanding that Executive team and our Tennis Pros are not ready to take such a high risk and enable tennis play on our courts. We will keep you posted on how negotiation with the City is progressing.
